Where pecans were dried and cracked in the 1850s, the first floor is a sitting room . It has two bathrooms, one of which has a custom marble open-air shower, large enough for two. A custom wood ladder on a sliding system leads to the second floor loft with a high-end foam mattress. Double barn doors open to the outside for a true indoor/outdoor experience and provide pleasant views of the fire pit.

The custom curtains, almost 12 feet long, are replicas of those in 19th century photos of Everhope. Original heart pine floors are complimented by a large oriental rug. For preservation purposes, the original fireplace has been retired. The room is accented with a period mantle mirror and gasolier. This room has 12 ft ceilings and a 10-person conference table frequently used for business, board games, or wedding preparations.

Interestingly, in the early days of electricity, two arms were often reserved for gas to back up the unreliable electric arms, hence this unusual piece. This room is called Ranch View, as you will likely wake to the view of cattle & horses.

The custom canopy bed was built using mahogany bed posts from the 1800s and is adorned with a beautiful custom fabric ceiling. For preservation purposes the original fireplace has been retired. This room is home to an impressive full-length mirror, much to the delight of many brides. This room is a perennial favorite of the former Governor and First Lady when they visit.

A separate building about 50 yards from this main home, this former dependency was restored in 2015. Attached private bathroom with custom open rain shower. You can conveniently leave muddy hunting gear in the outside entrance way. This room is next door to Cedar Guest Quarters.

The cedar for the walls and ceiling were obtained from trees in Eutaw, AL. Attached private bathroom with custom open rain shower. Tools displayed on the walls were found in the soil on the grounds. This is the only first floor bedroom in the main antebellum home. A private stairway connects to Beverly’s Nursery, which can connect to Sweet Home Alabama, allowing up to three adjoining bedrooms. If you book Beverly's Nursery, you have access to the shower and toilet in Beverly's Nursery. Otherwise you have a shared bathroom on the second floor with a gorgeous ball and claw tub. The bedroom has 12 ft ceilings. The carpet is a replica of the original, and the mantle mirror and gasolier are to period. This room was likely the office of Captain Carpenter, veteran of the Mexican War.
